## Fabrics for aerospace, space, and defense

JPS manufactures glass, Astroquartz®, and para-aramid fabrics for commercial aerospace, defense, and space applications. From primary and secondary structures and aircraft interiors to radomes, booms, thermal insulation, and shielding, our fabrics support a range of composite applications. JPS works with customers to match fabric construction and finish to their component, resin system, and processing requirements.

## Materials and manufacturing options

### Glass fabric constructions

E-glass and S-2 Glass® offer shear strength, thermal stability, and insulation. Construction and finish are matched to the component, resin system, and manufacturing process with JPS.

### Specialized aerospace materials

Astroquartz® fabrics serve radomes, booms, heat shields, thermal insulation, and munitions. Para-aramid fabrics serve structural reinforcement, aircraft interiors, cowlings, and micrometeoroid and orbital debris shielding.

### Widths and roll lengths

Common widths are 38 and 50 inches. Standard glass rolls span 500–1,000 linear yards; Astroquartz® rolls span 100–200 linear yards.

### Glass fabrics for structures, interiors, and components

Glass fabrics support commercial aerospace primary and secondary structures, structural reinforcement, honeycomb core, aircraft interiors, shims, tooling, and silicone coated composites such as hoses, gaskets, and fittings. Defense uses include munitions and structural reinforcement; space applications include booms.
