High-strength fibers
Para-aramid fabrics based on Kevlar® and Twaron® fibers.
High-performance aramid and UHMWPE fabrics for lightweight protective systems and impact-resistant composites.

JPS has woven para-aramid fabrics for more than 40 years, supplying materials for civilian and military protection. Kevlar® and Twaron® provide high-strength reinforcement, with UHMWPE fabrics available for additional low-weight options. Fabric construction and finish are selected for the customer’s protective system or composite processing requirements, including resin compatibility and areal weight.

Fiber choices for protective systems and lightweight composites.
Plain, crowfoot, and eight-harness satin constructions.
Scoured fabrics or finishes selected for resin compatibility.
Para-aramid fabrics are material candidates for personal, vehicle, and structural protection designs. The complete protective system requires application-specific engineering and performance testing.
Aramid’s tensile strength, stiffness, and thermal stability support applications where structural performance and weight are central design considerations.
The JPS handbook identifies style 350 with Kevlar® 49, style 5353 with Twaron® 2200, and style 705 with Kevlar® KM2. These are candidate constructions for review with JPS, not approved style-to-part or protection-performance specifications.

The handbook lists style 350 with Kevlar® 49, 5353 with Twaron® 2200, and 705 with Kevlar® KM2. Review these as candidate fabrics with JPS; a fabric record alone does not establish ballistic, cut, or stab performance for a finished system.

Woven Dyneema® and Spectra® fabrics provide an additional material family for weight-sensitive protective-system development. Select the construction through system requirements, processing trials, and performance testing.
